GEORGIE HEAD, AMFT

Associate Therapist

Hi there, I’m Georgie. Growing up in San Diego and attending Torrey Pines High School, I experienced firsthand the pressures that can come with a high-achieving academic environment. Your child might feel like they’re constantly trying to keep up, balancing school, friendships, and expectations, while their mind races from one worry to the next. It can often feel like they are chasing a finish line that keeps moving. With the right support (that’s where I come in) and practical tools, we can begin to slow things down to help them feel more grounded and in control.

I love working with preteens and teens who are navigating anxiety, especially during times of transition: starting at a new school, figuring out where they fit socially, or managing the demands of a rigorous academic workload. Your child might be dragging their feet to get ready for school in the morning, complaining of stomach aches halfway through the day, and you may find yourself wondering why their grades don't match what you know they're capable of. The young people I work with are often thoughtful, motivated, and capable, but may feel overwhelmed or stuck in patterns of overthinking. Together, we will work to better understand what is going on beneath the surface and build skills to help them move forward with more clarity and confidence.

I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #158274), and I received my Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University. I am supervised by Veronica Gibson (LMFT #141760). I use evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to support meaningful and lasting change. My goal is to create a space where your child feels understood, supported, and equipped with tools that actually make a difference in their day-to-day life. If you are ready to help your child feel more steady, confident, and capable in the face of stress, you are in the right place.
