KELLY MCCULLOUGH, LCSW
Director
Hiya! I’m Kelly. I wear a lot of hats in life (like we all do), and wouldn’t survive without my daily exercise (yoga—it keeps me sane) and caffeine. As a mom myself, I’ve felt the frustration of chaotic mornings and the fear of not parenting “the right way.” I know just how critical it is to balance your own sense of self outside of whatever it is you do for “work,” whether that is mom-ing, school, or a traditional career. I have a special fondness for my psychiatrist husband, and also for working with those in the medical profession.
The people I help best are kids, teens, and young adults who feel like they don’t quite measure up. They have some sensitive spots that may have been there for a while, but seem to be a little extra touchy lately. They worry about not being good enough, and so they try really hard to do everything as best as they can. Maybe they end up taking on a bit too much, and it’s all starting to get in the way of doing the things they want to do.
Now here’s the good part. I'm a licensed clinical social worker (license #80807). I received my Master's in Social Work from the San Diego State University MSW program. I’m obsessed with learning, and have received extensive psychotherapy training by the psychiatry and psychology departments at the University of California, San Diego, University of San Diego, and Rady Children's Hospital, San Diego. My go-to for making change happen is through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and am certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to help you sort through the life-changing kind of stuff. I am also a certified trainer in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) to help make change happen for the little littles (ages two to seven). If you're ready to do things a little differently in your life, this is the place to start.
