VERONICA GIBSON, LMFT
Therapist
Hello, I'm Veronica. When I’m not in the office, you can catch me at home chasing after my two littles with my husband. I’m a therapist, mom of two, certified traveler, and professional family wrangler. I love traveling because I get to see how people around the world see and do things differently, and bring that perspective into my work in the therapy space. I don’t always have it *all* together at home with my own family, but that doesn’t stop me from trying to figure it out. I would love to help you try to figure it out, too.
I love working with kids and adolescents who are struggling with not always making the best decisions and have been labeled the “bad kid.” Some of them might be getting in trouble at school, experimenting with drugs, or having a lot of conflict in their relationships. I know, underneath it all, is a kid who is just trying their best to get along the only way they know how. I’m here to help people learn other ways to show up and navigate the hard stuff that has been happening in their lives.
Here’s how I can help. I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist (license #141760). I received my Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Phoenix MFT program. I have years of experience working with high-risk youth in both a clinical and managerial setting. A lot of the people I help may have gone through something really tough, even traumatic, and I use EMDR to help them move forward. I use my specialty training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to help my families cut through the noise and find other, more helpful ways of responding when tough situations arise. Knowing how a child’s struggles can most certainly affect a marriage, I also love supporting parents in couples work. If you're looking to change your approach and try new ways of navigating your relationship or family, you've come to the right spot.
