Kelly McCullough, LCSW (license # 80807) is a licensed therapist in La Jolla who treats children, adolescents, and adults. Her practice is centered on building strong, trusting relationships with individuals and families in order to make change happen. Kelly obtained her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with an emphasis in Neuroscience from the University of California, San Diego. She went on to graduate with honors with a Master of Social Work degree from San Diego State University. Kelly has received extensive psychotherapy training by the psychiatry departments at the University of California, San Diego and Rady Children's Hospital, San Diego. She has also held various research positions within San Diego VA Healthcare System, Center for Brain and Cognition, and San Diego State University. In order to further enhance her cross-disciplinary clinical expertise, she represented the allied mental health field in the Community Psychiatry fellowship seminar series at University of California, San Diego.
Current practice specialities include anxiety, depression, behavioral problems, and trauma. She is currently certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), An Individualized Mental Health Intervention for Children with ASD (AIM-HI), Change Agents Developing Recovery Excellence (CADRE), and Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).
Kelly actively advocates for the individuals she works with to practice self-care to enhance their sense of overall wellness. To practice her own self-care, Kelly enjoys reading, jogging, spending time with her husband, and playing with her dog.
Individual and family therapy appointments are offered at the La Jolla office location for children, adolescents, and adults. Visits are typically 50 minutes, 2-4 times per month. Treatment goals and interventions are decided upon in a collaborative fashion and individualized to meet your specific needs.

Kelly sees individuals and families for the following issues: anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral issues, alcohol and/or substance use, life transitions, family conflict, self-esteem, relationships, stress, and parenting. Kelly specializes in child and adolescent mental health and treats ages four to adult.
Kelly is an out-of-network provider and does not accept insurance. Her fee is $200 per 50 minute session. She can provide a super bill of services to help with obtaining reimbursement through your insurance company. She accepts VISA, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, cash or check.
Everyone is deserving of the gift of therapy, regardless of ability to pay. Kelly is an active Open Path Psychotherapy Collective member and reserves a number of time slots on her schedule for sliding scale appointments based on income.
